Our first magazine, focusing on the subject of hair. We explored the many dimensions of hair. Not only as a powerful tool to express yourself but as a diverse cultural understanding. In this issue, we tried to challenge and address the societal norms surrounding hair. We learned that our hair in every part of the world holds a symbolic power that should not be underestimated.
Special thanks to Kirsten Algera and Simon Davies for guiding us through this project.

O Sobreiro AssobiandoThe Whistling Cork Oak
'O Sobreiro Assobiando' is a booklet I made about the Cork Oak tree. Translated from Portuguese ‘The Whistling Cork Oak’. This tree generates every 9 years a material that we know as cork. In Portugal, locals call this tree ‘The whistling tree’ due to the variety of birds nesting in and around the tree, creating a chorus of chirps. The 'Sobreiro' not only brings biodiversity but also holds profound cultural significance. The Cork-Oak is a beautiful example of possible harmonious relationship between human consumption of natural resources and the preservation of ecosystems when managed responsibly.
